‘American Beauty' Book Now Out!
"American Beauty" è una rosa rossa creata in Francia, famosa negli Stati Uniti e simbolo di Washington. La sua caratteristica di petali duraturi e gambo che marcisce rapidamente rappresenta le contraddizioni della società statunitense.
Il volume "American Beauty" e l'omonima mostra esplorano le contraddizioni della superpotenza americana, attraverso le opere di importanti artisti internazionali. La fotografia introduce il visitatore al trionfante e decadente universo americano, iniziando dal bianco e nero di maestri come Henri Cartier-Bresson e Robert Capa, passando alle immagini a colori di Steve McCurry e Annie Leibovitz. La mostra include anche la Pop Art con artisti come Andy Warhol e la Street Art con figure come Banksy. La narrazione va dall'iconica foto di propaganda di Joe Rosenthal alla rappresentazione delle rivolte anarchiche nei murales di Banksy.

‘American Beauty’ has as its primary purpose to increase and enhance the heritage and legacy of the American Flag and the exhibition has set itself two objectives: to create a bridge between different cultures around the impact the American Flag has from an historical and social aspect; and to enhance the heritage through initiatives to a wide audience by inviting select local artists to interpret the American Flag in their unique style and by organising events and didactic programs open to schoolchildren.
